Orange Beach Festival of Art

Located just a few minutes from Gulf Shores, the city of Orange Beach is host to a long-running festival of art, which showcases both established and up-and-coming local artists. Mullet Toss | April

This annual beach party is well worth the drive to nearby Pensacola, FL for a weekend of fun in the sun with thousands of other beachgoers. The main event is a competition to see who can throw a dead mullet (the fish, not the hairstyle) farthest over the Alabama-Florida state line, but there’s much more to see and do including live music, great food and beachfront shopping.

Hangout Music Festival | May

More than 35,000 music fans make their way to Gulf Shores every year for this one-of-a-kind music festival held right on the beach. It features an average of 70 bands, along with a variety of fun-in-the-sun activities.

Thunder on the Beach | August

Happening every August in nearby Orange Beach, AL, this exhilarating powerboat racing event offers fun and excitement for the whole family. In addition to the races the event features a bikini contest, poker tournament, motorcycle run and lots of live music and entertainment.

National Shrimp Festival | October
